  • Timeline and Checklist for Kindergarten applicants

    Applications are accepted and entrance evaluations are administered by appointment throughout the year. We advise families to submit applications for any year as soon as possible in order to be scheduled for our Kindergarten Screenings and to give your student the best chance to be placed.

  • Timeline and Checklist for grades 1-6 applicants

    Applications are accepted and reviewed throughout the year.  We encourage families to apply early and to complete the application process as soon as possible to offer the best chance for placement.

    Requirements for a complete application:
    1st grade applicants take an in-office evaluation, by appointment
    2nd-4th grade applicants spend a day on campus in their current grade and take an in-office evaluation
    5th-6th grade applicants spend a day on campus in their current grade and are interviewed by an administrator

    Birth certificate copy
    ISEE test scores for 5th-6th grade applicants and optional supporting standardized scores for 3rd-6th grade applicants


  • Timeline and Checklist for grades 7-12 applicants

    Applications are accepted and reviewed year round. We encourage families to apply early and to complete the application process as soon as possible to offer the best chance for placement.

    Families with student athletes who are applying for grades 7-12 should be aware that certain Alabama High School Athletic Association eligibility rules apply to first-year students. It is important to discuss all details about athletic eligibility with the Admissions and Athletic offices.

    Requirements for a complete application:

    Application form
    Applicants spend a day on campus in their current grade and interview with Division Head or Dean
    Current transcript
    Current English and Math teacher recommendations
    Guided writing sample
    Birth certificate copy 
    ISEE test scores and optional supporting standardized test scores form current school
     
  • Timeline and Checklist for Greengate Division Grades 1-8 Applicants

    In order to complete the enrollment process, please complete the checklist items listed below, including submission of all supplemental application forms.

    Schedule a personal tour by calling our office at 256-551-4439.
    Review Greengate Mission Statement.
    Schedule testing, if needed. Current testing is required (within the last two years) including:
                         Cognitive Assessment (IQ): WISC-IV or Stanford-Binet
                         Dysliexia Assessment establishing dyslexia/reading disability diagnosis
    Submit online application
    Submit application fee of $135
    Forward Confidential Evaluation Form to student's current tutor/teacher.
    Forward Transcript Release Form to student's current school.
    Student Classroom Visit (2 days preferred, if school is currently in session)
    Schedule a family interview once all of the above has been completed.
