|It is with great sadness that we are cancelling the 2020 Under the Christmas Tree Holiday Market in its much beloved format. This decision was not made lightly. The UTCT Committee spent months exhaustively exploring possible solutions for how to host this large scale, high quality shopping experience during a pandemic. After discussions with administrators, health professionals, merchants, and volunteers, we concluded that it would not be possible to host our traditional market without exposing our friends and families to unnecessary health risks. While this would have been the 36th year for this cherished event and our School’s largest fundraising event, our top priority will always be to protect our parent volunteers, students, merchants, and shoppers. As we approach the scheduled dates of the Under the Christmas Tree weekend, we plan to announce a series of smaller and physically distanced events that will help offset the $130,000 loss to the School’s Tailored Tuition program. |
The greatest struggle that came up again and again in our discussions, was the loss of an event that brings the entire Randolph community together. Without the support of our community this event would not happen. Whether you have shopped, sponsored, or volunteered with us, we want to take this opportunity to say thank you for that support. You have not only supported our students financially but strengthened our community and we cannot wait to be with all of you November 5-7, 2021!
In the meantime, we encourage you to sign up to attend this year's special events and support the merchants virtually who you would have shopped with in person! Here is a complete list:
About Under the Christmas Tree
Under The Christmas Tree is Randolph’s biggest special event annual fundraiser. Held in November in the South Hall of the Von Braun Center, the three-day market attracts approximately 10,000 shoppers from throughout the region and contributes more than $100,000 to Randolph’s Tailored Tuition program. Its success is due to a hard-working group of parents, past parents, alumni, and grandparents.
