We are delighted that you are considering Randolph School for your child.

Below, you’ll find all the information you need to guide you through the application process, including important timelines, grade-specific requirements, and helpful resources to support each step.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis year-round, with priority given to applications completed by January 15. Families are encouraged to apply early and complete all steps as soon as possible to give their child the best chance for placement.

1. Getting Started

Schedule a campus tour to experience what makes a Randolph education an exceptional investment for your family. Tours and information sessions allow you to speak with current parents, faculty, and coaches.

2. Next Steps

  • Submit your online application
  • Schedule your child’s campus visit and provide supporting documents (e.g., teacher recommendations, birth certificate, transcripts, and test results, if applicable)
  • Connect with current families, faculty, or coaches to discuss your child’s interests and programs

3. Admission Decisions

Once your application and all supporting materials are received, the Admissions team reviews your child’s file, including transcripts, recommendations, assessments, and interviews. Families will be notified of the admission decision in a timely manner.

Pre-Kindergarten & Kindergarten

Application Requirements:

  • Online application
  • Entrance evaluation (by appointment)
  • Birth certificate
  • Current teacher recommendation


Additional Notes:

Early application is strongly encouraged to schedule assessments and secure placement

Optional panel video available: experts discuss readiness for “big school,” essential skills, and child development assessments

Grades 1–6

Application Requirements:

  • Online application
  • Previous year transcript + most recent semester grades
  • Current teacher recommendation
  • Birth certificate


Grade-Specific Requirements:

  • 1st Grade: In-office evaluation (by appointment)
  • 2nd–4th Grades: Student campus visit + in-office evaluation
  • 3rd–6th Grades: Optional supporting standardized scores may be submitted
  • 5th–6th Grades: Student campus visit + administrator interview; ISEE scores required


Additional Notes:

Early application helps secure preferred assessment dates and placement

Grades 7–12

Application Requirements:

  • Online application
  • Current transcript
  • English and Math teacher recommendations
  • Guided writing sample
  • Birth certificate
  • ISEE scores (optional supporting standardized test scores)
  • Student campus visit + interview with Division Head or Dean


Additional Notes:

Families with student-athletes should review Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) eligibility rules with Admissions and Athletics

Greengate School (Grades 1–6)

Mission Statement:

Greengate School at Randolph provides a supportive and challenging learning environment for students with dyslexia and related language-based learning differences. Our program is designed to meet each child’s unique learning needs while helping them reach their full academic and personal potential.

Application Requirements:

  • Schedule a tour
  • Online application + $135 fee
  • Cognitive & dyslexia assessments (within 2 years)
  • Confidential Evaluation Form from current tutor/teacher
  • Transcript Release Form from current school
  • Student classroom visit (two days preferred, if school is in session)
  • Family interview after all prior steps are completed
