Overview

The focus of Randolph School’s third annual Summer Institute for Teaching and Learning is how educators and families can understand the foundational skills that are necessary for students to become proficient writers in any content area.

Breakout sessions with Jennings Miller will target practical strategies at specific grade levels, while Randolph faculty will share successful strategies and projects from their own classrooms.

Jennings Miller

Jennings Miller

Jennings is a Fellow in the Orton Gillingham Academy who trains teachers in the Orton-Gillingham approach and the Science of Reading. She leads dynamic, personalized mentorship and practicum experiences, working with educators to support meaningful professional growth.

After earning her M.Ed. in Special Education from Vanderbilt, Jennings spent a decade teaching students with diverse learning needs, including dyslexia, autism, and language-based disorders. She has worked at the Marcus Autism Center and The Schenck School, and now runs a private dyslexia therapy practice serving students ages 5–18.

Jennings has led workshops and accredited trainings nationwide, presented at major conferences, and contributed to nonprofit literacy initiatives. She is the author of the Fat Sam and Friends decodable series and The Alphabet King.

Since 2021, Jennings has served as Fellow of Record for Training and Instruction at Greengate School at Randolph, where she oversees therapists and develops curriculum grounded in the Science of Reading.
