National Merit Honorees
Randolph Students Earn 16 National Merit Honors, Including 12 Semifinalists
Twelve Randolph students have been named National Merit Semifinalists, and four others have been recognized as National Merit Commended Students!
The 2026 National Merit Semifinalists from Randolph are:
This outstanding group represents 5% of all semifinalists in Alabama — more than any other school in North Alabama and nearly double the number recognized at other leading private schools in the state. A National Merit Semifinalist is a student who achieved a high score on the PSAT/NMSQT as a junior, placing them in the top 1% of test-takers in the state. They will compete for about 6,930 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $26 million to be awarded next spring.
The 2026 National Merit Commended Students from Randolph are:

- Adi Gowda '26
- Ahmed Hassan '26
- Austin Shadinger '26
Being named a National Merit Commended Student signifies scoring in the top 3–4% of participants on the PSAT/NMSQT and earning a Letter of Commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) in recognition of strong academic performance.
