Painted faces and bodies, blue and silver spiked hair, Raiders' t-shirts and other spirited expressions of unity tell the story of the Raider spirit. Randolph Raiders win state championships, all-star titles, and college scholarships, but more importantly, they model championship behavior. They are willing to work hard, take chances, and persevere on the court or on the field.

Athletics at Randolph offers a passageway for developing determination, skill, effort, control and motivation while instilling respect, pride, tradition and commitment. Student-athletes graduate Randolph understanding the importance of staying physically active for life.

The Raider philosophy is to HONOR THE GAME. We encourage you to download this helpful information sheet about the Randolph approach to athletics in the School.

Lower Elementary School students begin their exposure to organized athletics through recreation-style games where every team member plays. Learning the rules of the game, basic skills and good sportsmanship in a fun setting are the goals for these young student-athletes.

Upper Elementary School students build on the fundamental goals of the Lower Elementary division and begin refining their skills, as skill development becomes a more important aspect of game play.

Middle School students are ready to transition into more in-depth practices and game strategies after a successful Upper Elementary experience. These students face more competitive opponents as they prepare for the high school experience. Middle School students compete in the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) and the Huntsville Independent School League (HISL).

Upper School students train for the competitive 3A level in the AHSAA through commitment that runs beyond the boundaries of seasons. Developing abilities through off-season work and multi-sport training is vital in developing a winning tradition. The perseverance of these committed student-athletes coupled with the challenges given by our experienced coaching staff continue to bring success to the athletic program, as evidenced in Randolph's second place ranking of overall athletic programs in the state in the Birmingham News poll for 2004.
