Keeping Students Healthy…FCD Student Attitudes and Behavior Survey

A presentation for parents by FCD Director Rene Soulis

Freedom from Chemical Dependency (FCD) Educational Services is the world's premier provider of drug and alcohol education services for independent school.  FCD facilitators were at Randolph in the fall, working with our middle and upper school students to ensure they are well educated in order to form lifelong healthy habits.
On February 12, FCD Director Rene Soulis will be at Randolph to talk in detail about the latest Student Attitudes and Behavior Survey taken by Randolph students. Developed in partnership with leaders in research design and the social norms approach to prevention, the survey is a 50-question instrument built to scientifically measure students’ actual attitudes and behavior with regard to alcohol and other drugs, as well as their perceptions of the behavior and attitudes of their schoolmates.
Ms. Soulis will present the Randolph survey findings with faculty at a morning session, and will then offer two opportunities for parents to come and hear more about the overall health of our student population and to have questions answered. Parents of students in our middle and upper schools are encouraged to attend one of these sessions to learn more about what we can do to ensure that our students remain healthy and to increase student-parent communication about alcohol and other drugs.
