SAIS Reaccreditation Visit

"Randolph School is the way you wish the world would be.”
Randolph School recently completed its five-year accreditation process, where it was unanimously found in compliance with all required standards and recommended for reaccreditation. At the conclusion of his visit to Randolph, Accreditation Chair Jack Hall began his remarks to faculty and staff with a simple statement: “Randolph School is exceptional.”

The accreditation process involved an extensive self-study process, and was highlighted by a three-day visit from a team of five independent school leaders from across the Southeast, chaired by Mr. Hall, Head of School at The Walker School in Marietta, Ga.

Randolph Head of School, Jay Rainey, offered, “Our hopes and aspirations for Randolph are great, and we were pleased to have this occasion to engage in a peer review and to draw from the rich experience and wisdom of the members of our visiting team. It was a very affirming and encouraging process for our school, and the Chair’s visit report to faculty and trustees highlighted our feeling of gratitude.”

The team’s concluding remarks prominently noted the School’s “strong sense of community, where faculty and students alike are known for their collaborative innovation, where there is a palpable, genuine and organic sense of character development, and where relationships between students and teachers are described as meaningful, even life-changing.”

They further stated that the School provides “exponential opportunities for growth and connectivity” through initiatives that are currently being explored or implemented, notably: the Idea Path, Randolph Connect, and a possible partnership with Greengate School. The School was also commended for the development of learning support teams, for utilizing pedagogical practices across grades K-12 that prepare students to address real-world challenges and opportunities (including the Interim program, which began in the 1970s), and for recent marketing initiatives such as the #whyRandolph campaign.

In the words of a Randolph alumna and current parent who met with the team, "Randolph School is the way you wish the world would be.”

A final report highlighting all commendations and recommendations will be provided by the Southern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS) in the coming days.

Randolph School is dually accredited by SAIS and AdvancEd / Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
