Science Olympiad Places 2nd in State

"Every team member placed in the top four in at least one of their events."
After a first place finish in Regionals, the Upper School team competed in the State Science Olympiad. They placed 2nd overall. Auburn High School was 1st and LAMP High School was 3rd.

“Every one of the 15 members on the team placed in the top four in at least one of their events,” reports Head Coach Ruth McMichens.

In the individual events, there were two 1st place finishes, in Forensics (Deanna Dailey & Tanuj Alapati) and Remote Sensing (Esper Chao & Emily Johnson).

There were two 2nd place finishes in Chemistry Lab (Tanuj Alapati & Nayana Vuppala) and Dynamic Planet ( Esper Chao & Emily Johnson), and three 3rd place finishes in Anatomy & Physiology ( Neelesh Manandhar & Mahip Kalra), Microbe Mission ( Neelesh Manandhar & Deanna Dailey), and Hovercraft (Mahip Kalra & Spencer Laue).

There were six 4th place finishes in Ecology (Deanna Dailey & Roshni Patnayakuni), Materials Science (Roshni Patnayakuni & Esper Chao), Optics (Nick Bonaker & Tanuj Alapati), Wind Power (Coner McFarlin & Peyton Paulus), Helicopters (Dani Dailey & Peyton Paulus), and Towers (Tristen Hunnewell & Somil Joshi).
