The Upper School Awards assembly was held Friday, May 25, in the Thurber Arts Center, with opening remarks delivered by outgoing SGA President Maggie Mitchell and closing remarks by SGA President Elect Sarah Whelden Hall. Onstage presenters included Jay Rainey, Ryan Liese, Lt. Col. Chris Wellborn, USAF, Blake Davenport, Mrs. Joyce Wilborn, Michael Treadwell, Lewis Cobbs, Ms. Elizabeth Hamrick, Peter Townsend, Nate Gee, Sue Samuels, Mary Jones, Vally Perry, Jeanne Hillinck, Beth Andrada, Jereme Matthews, and Jerry Beckman.
The annual Middle School Awards ceremony took place in the Rhett Fine Arts Center on May 22. Officiating from the podium were Jay Rainey, Jerry Beckman, Clay Elliott, Allyson McCloud, Sue Samuels, and Wright Ward, with many classroom teachers also offering their congratulations.
The boards of both Randolph and Greengate schools cast votes on March 14 for a merger of the two organizations that would be effective for the 2018-2019 school year. You are invited to the official ribbon-cutting ceremony, celebrating the merger, on Monday, August 6, at 3:00 PM on the Drake Campus.
Twenty seniors, 20 juniors, and 29 sophomores, 26% of students in grades 10-12, were inducted into the Edor G. Anderson Chapter of the National Honor Society on February 7. Sponsor Elaine Poplin hosted the ceremony, and Betsy Allen offered congratulatory remarks.
