Randolph Habitat Chapter Achieves Milestone
2/12/2007
The School becomes a unique sponsor.
At the Feb. 12 Upper School Monday Morning Meeting, Myra Sanderson, the Director of Habitat for Humanity of Madison County, presented the Randolph School Habitat for Humanity Campus Chapter with a banner announcing the Chapter's proud sponsorship of the Community Home Build 2007.
The build, which will begin in March and last for 13 weeks, will construct a total of six houses. Randolph School is now a partial sponsor of one of those houses.
Most of the $5,000 donation required to be a partial sponsor was raised by the Chapter, but it also received a generous gift of $1,100 from Randolph's 5th grade parents in honor of the School's 5th grade teachers, boosting the Chapter into the category of house sponsorship. According to Sanderson, no other school in Madison County has ever achieved this goal.
