ACADEMIC CAMPS
Enrich your child's summer experience with one of Randolph School's fun and stimulating academic camps.  Students may choose a Math Camp or learn how to record music.  Focus on a foreign language with French, Chinese or Spanish.  Enroll in our art camp for fun and take-home items.

Computer Graphics & Movie-Making Camp Cancelled

 Explore the latest techniques in animation and movie making using Pivot Animator and Windows Movie Maker.  Use pictures to create your own movie including sound and graphics.  Beginning animation allows creative ideas to come to life on screen.  Use Movie Maker to edit and touch original digital photos, then find music and sound bites to match the movie theme.  Add captions to create a movie memory of a favorite family vacation or special birthday event.  Participants will take home a CD of their creations.

Digital Music Composition

Natasha Bedingfield. Rihanna. Akon. Sean Kingston. Alicia Keys. Fergie. M.C. Hammer.  What do these artists, and so many others, have in common?  Sampling, sequencing, digital editing, recording.  Teacher and composer Julian Bryson will introduce students to the world of computer-based musical composition including all of the above elements.  Using the tools of professional composers in the music, film, and television industries, students will explore the basics of music and compositional techniques.

Foreign Language

Discover other cultures through a week of learning basic conversational vocabulary and language skills in Chinese, French and Spanish.  Enjoy counting, singing, asking questions, telling time, ordering food and more.  This is a great camp for those beginning foreign language study.  Participants choose a language with instructors:  Selina Chen – Chinese, Francoise Wackenhut – French, Maria Mercedes Medina – Spanish -CANCELLED.

A Girl's Guide to Friendship

Description:  This course is designed to help girls navigate the issues of friendship, respect, and develop a healthy self-image.  We will focus on what makes a good friend and how to negotiate friendship troubles.  Interactive participation will help improve communication skills and confidence.  Come learn how to make new friends and build lasting friendships for the new school year!  The book used is published by American Girl.  


Math Camp Basic Skills

Come have fun using the Activotes and the Activboard to practice basic math skills.  Students will learn strategies to help give them a better understanding of some math concepts.  This will be a great math review before beginning the next school year.

Math Camp

Students can find the fun in math by playing games to reinforce math facts, exploring the history of mathematics, and by practicing math contest questions.  The students will build egg drop containers and calculate the volume of their containers.
