Hooper joined the faculty of Randolph in 1988. Prior to that, she taught English at Westtown School in Pennsylvania and at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Under Hooper's supervision, Randolph’s yearbook, Acclivity, has received numerous honors, including the 2001 Gold Medal awarded by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association. Hooper herself received the Anthony J. Lynch Faculty Award in 1996.

Her husband, Charles Boley, is a manager at Hiwaay Internet Services. Their daughter, Liz, is a Randolph School graduate.
