First grade

Short earned a bachelor's degree in history and elementary education before joining the Randolph School faculty. Prior to that, Short taught at the elementary school level in Plano, Tex., where she was named “Beginning Teacher of the Year” in 1990.

She and her husband, Jay Short, have two children enrolled at Randolph School: Travis and Samantha.
