Homework and Teacher Pages

An average night of homework for a middle school student includes studying and writing in each of his/her five academic classes. As the school day includes a forty-minute study hall for all students to get started on their homework, the time spent studying at home is typically one and a half hours. An example of an eighth grade student’s homework one night would be as follows:

Algebra I Work problems 1-35 odd on simplifying rational expressions.

US History Read pages 78-86 in your text. Reading quiz tomorrow.

English Do vocabulary lesson 13, sections A-C and begin five-paragraph essay on the short story read last week “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.” Essay is due next Friday.

Spanish Complete the workbook lesson started today in class to be checked tomorrow.

Science Define the words listed on the syllabus and make a review sheet for the formulas presented today.
